About
Memory of Place is a cultural research and storytelling studio-lab based in The Hague. We investigate, record, and map fragile, often undocumented stories of places and the people who inhabit them, focusing on communities with aging populations or shaped by migration.
Our first project is to capture the voices of rural Romania before they disappear with its aging generation, creating a living archive that can later expand to other parts of the world.
Our team—Patricia Hurducas (writer and researcher), Alina Jitari (painter and curator), and Silvia Paizan (graphic designer and artist)—shares Romanian roots and an international perspective, now based between The Netherlands and Copenhagen.
We are united by a commitment to preserving human experience and by the belief that some stories, myths, and legends of places are too precious to be forever lost from collective human memory.
